Michael Lefton

Managing Director, Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations 
Starwood Capital Group

Michael Lefton is a Managing Director in Starwood Capital Group’s Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations Group, where he is responsible for targeted regions and investors. Mr. Lefton previously served in a variety of roles at Starwood Capital from 2004–15, most recently as a Director in Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations. Prior to 2013, he was a Vice President on the Firm’s Acquisitions team, where he executed both equity and debt acquisitions through various investment vehicles, across asset classes and geographic regions.

Prior to rejoining Starwood Capital in 2017, Mr. Lefton was a Managing Director on the investment team at Cadre, a real estate technology platform, and also served on the company’s investment committee.

Mr. Lefton holds a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Klaus L. Svendsen

Managing Director & European Head of Fundraising and Investor Relations 
Starwood Capital Group

Klaus Svendsen is a Managing Director and European Head of Starwood Capital’s Fundraising and Investor Relations Group. In this role, he is responsible for raising capital within Europe and Israel on behalf of the Firm’s private investment funds and co-investments.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2019, Mr. Svendsen was co-head of Business Development, EMEA for Alcentra in London. Mr. Svendsen started his career at Nordea in Copenhagen before moving to work for Merrill Lynch in London where he has been based since 1997. He has also worked at Morgan Stanley, RBS and Ashmore Investment Management.

Mr. Svendsen holds a B.S. in economics from the Copenhagen Business School.


James K. Broder

Director, Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations
Starwood Capital Group

James Broder is a Director in Starwood Capital Group’s Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations Group, where he is responsible for targeted regions and investors.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2012, Mr. Broder spent 15 years as a Senior Managing Director in Fixed Income at Bear Stearns, with a focus on institutional rate sales. After Bear Stearns’ takeover in 2008, he moved to Deutsche Bank, where he served as a Managing Director in Fixed Income, in middle market sales. He subsequently served as a Managing Director at Pierpont Securities.

Mr. Broder holds a B.A. degree from George Washington University’s International Business School.


David Muren

Director, Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations 
Starwood Capital Group

David Muren is a Director in Starwood Capital Group’s Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations Group. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing project management.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2017, Mr. Muren spent six years as a Director on Angelo, Gordon & Co.’s Investor Relations team. Before that, he held various positions in the real estate groups at Lehman Brothers and then Barclays Capital, including working on CMBS securitizations and debt syndications.

Mr. Muren holds a B.S. degree in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.


Jun Park

Director, Head of Asia Investor Relations 
Starwood Capital Group

Jun Park is a Director and Head of Asia in Starwood Capital Group’s Global Capital Raising and Investor Relations Group. In this role, he is responsible for raising capital in Asia on behalf of the Firm’s private investment funds and co-investments. Mr. Park previously served in Starwood Capital’s Acquisitions Group and helped assemble a portfolio of retail assets for affiliate Starwood Retail Partners.

Prior to joining Starwood Capital in 2013, Mr. Park worked in the real estate banking practice at Korea Exchange Bank. He began his career in investment operations at Government of Singapore Investment Corp in Seoul, Korea.

Mr. Park received a B.S. degree from KyungHee University and a master’s degree focusing in real estate from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
